BHS Spring Instrumental Concert

Save the date for the Bedford High School Spring Instrumental Concert! The concert will feature 2 world premieres by the BHS Orchestra: Strings Moving Movement by BHS’s own Eran Zelixon ’19, and a commissioned piece by Jason Coleman for solo oud and orchestra.

The concert takes place Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018 at 7:00 PM in the BHS Auditorium and is free and open to the public. Both composers will be in attendance as well, and the concert will also feature performances by the BHS Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Coleman’s piece, Rhapsodies Concertantes: Bingeol, was commissioned by BHS Orchestra Director, Brianna Pesce, and funded by the Bedford Cultural Council and the Bedford POMS (Patrons of Music Students). The piece is a collaboration between Mr. Coleman and the solo oudist–BHS student, Datev Gevorkian ’20. Rhapsodies Concertantes incorporates an Armenian folk tune with Baroque counterpoint and traditionally classical instrumentation.
