Bedford’s Centennial Reflections – American Legion Turns 100 Years Old

This Saturday (26th) American Legion Post 221 celebrates its 100th Anniversary.   We ask that you send us any images, poems, stories, or even a thought or two of how you and your family may have remembered WWI.  You may have a story handed down to you from you Grandparents, or even your Great Great Grandparents or Great Aunts or Uncles.   On this day we are also holding a Veterans Appreciation BBQ for all our Vets.  We’re having a fundraiser to support our mission as well – we visit and support our great VA, provide scholarships to high school students, promote the Red, White and Blue through youth activities and sponsorships. We actively participate in Town wide ceremonies for Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony, and Veterans Day. We also provide long running annual community events like Mother’s Day Breakfast, Senior Thanksgiving Dinner, Santa’s Christmas Party, and many more.
