Please join the Bedford Trails Committee for a free trail walk in the woods! We plan to explore the town land north of Hanscom Field. Pace will be leisurely (i.e. slow). Expect very muddy terrain, and ticks.
The walk is less than 2 miles round trip and will take about 2 hours.
March weather! The walk will go on regardless of weather! Prepare for cold or warm; ice, snow, or mud; with appropriate footwear and waterproof layers. Ski poles, walking sticks, snowshoes, mudboots, and/or ice creepers may be necessary.
This Bedford town land is a mix of conservation land and undeveloped land, mainly flat, with varying trail quality.
When and where: Rendezvous at library about 9:45 to get organized, oriented, and sign up for the walk! Leave from the parking lot behind the Bedford Free Public Library at 10:00 a.m. We’ll head over to the Concord Rd. trailhead (west end of Reformatory Branch Trail, or possibly Lavender Lane, depends on parking lot conditions)
Leader: Bruce Wisentaner Note: All walks are at your own risk. Depending on the time of the year, ticks may be out, poison ivy may be active, and Covid-19 is omnipresent. Please wear comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes or boots that can handle wet or mud, and ice and snow in the winter. Dogs on a leash and children are welcome. Follow whatever Covid-19 precautions are in force at the time. |
