Bedford Democratic Caucus and Meeting

BEDFORD DEMOCRATS TO ELECT DELEGATES AND ALTERNATES TO STATE CONVENTION

Bedford Democrats will be holding a caucus at the Shawsheen Room of the Bedford Town Center building at 12 Mudge Way on Saturday, March 3^rd at 9AM to elect 8 delegates and 4 alternates to the 2018 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention, where thousands of Democrats from across Massachusetts will gather to endorse Democratic candidates for statewide office, including Attorney General, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Auditor, US Senator, Lt. Governor, and Governor. The Convention will be held on Friday, June 1^st and Saturday, June 2^nd at the DCU Center in Worcester.

The caucus is open for participation to all registered Democrats in Bedford. In addition, pre-registered Democrats who will be age 18 by Sept 18, 2018, the date of the next state primary, will also be able to participate in caucuses and run for delegate and alternate slots. Voter registration forms will be available, allowing for same day registration in order to participate in the caucus. Those not able to participate are welcome to attend and observe the caucus. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women, and all contested ballots will be written and secret. In the spirit of inclusion, youth, minorities, and people with disabilities, and LGBTQ individuals who are not elected as a delegate or alternate may apply to be an add-on delegate, either at the caucus or online at www.massdems.org

The Bedford Democratic Town Committee will have a meeting immediately following the caucus. This meeting is open to all interested. During the meeting, we will plan for activities for the upcoming year.
