How Did The Bedford Citizen Get It’s Start?
January 28, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 9:50 am
Five years ago three Bedford women decided to stop dreaming about an online local newspaper and to just did it. The Bedford Citizen immediately found an audience and the hunger for more local news was affirmed. In the first months as excitement and expectations rose, they often felt they had a tiger by the tail. Since then the Citizen has become, a 501c3 nonprofit, developed a governance model that works and begun to pay some staff. Now they are looking at how to sustain their newspaper in years to come. As always the Citizen looks to Bedford citizens for input.
Members of the Bedford Citizen Executive Committee – Joan Bowen, Meredith McCulloch, Ginni Spencer, and Julie Turner will present their story.
Reminder: The Bedford Lyceum will meet in Room 202 from 9:00 to 9:50.
