On Tuesday, March 8 at 7 pm the Bedford Center for the Arts Photo Group will host fine art photographer, custom digital printer, and teacher Jim Nickelson who will discuss “The Sense of Wonder”.
In this virtual presentation, Jim explores how photography can help one develop a sense of wonder as well as help provide a creative outlet to share that same wonder. Jim uses his own photographs to illustrate how the thread of wonder about the natural world ties together his own disparate bodies of work, and also shares some favorite work by other photographers for further inspiration. He will also share tips about exploring your own sense of wonder in your own work.
Jim makes his home in Camden, Maine, with his amazing wife and daughter. Before committing himself to the photographic life over a decade ago, he pursued the classic artistic career path of NASA engineer and corporate attorney (with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Univ. of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from Harvard Law School).
Jim has received numerous awards, including being honored as Artist-in-Residence at Acadia National Park and Arizona’s Chiricahua National Monument, as well as at Iceland’s Baer Art Center. Jim has exhibited widely and his work resides in museum, public, corporate, and private collections across the United States and Canada. www.jimnickelson.com
