Bedford Safe Campaign Event for Kids

As part of the continuing Bedford Safe Campaign, the Bedford Police and Health Department's, Bedford Board of Health and the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office will host a Bedford gun buyback event on Saturday June 3, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Bedford Department of Public Works (DPW), 314 the Great Road. The focus is on providing residents with a safe and secure way of removing unwanted firearms from their homes. Residents will receive a $100 Visa gift card for any firearm turned in. Spring Household Hazardous Product Collection Events

The Town of Bedford is pleased to announce the first 3 events of the 2023 schedule for collection of Household Hazardous Products. The collections will take place at the Town of Lexington Landfill Site at 60 Hartwell Avenue from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the following Saturdays: April 22, May 13, and June 10. Additional dates for 2023 will be posted once finalized. The event is free of charge to Bedford residents but pre-registration is required. 2nd Annual Bedford Pride Celebration

The Parents Diversity Council and Bedford Youth and Family Services are excited to sponsor this year's Pride Day on Sunday June 11 from 1-4pm on the Town Common. There will be crafts, information tables, storytime, and live music...as well a festive atmosphere (think: parade and a "nonbinary-asaur") and an ice cream truck visit.  Please see the attached flyer (designed by a local youth), and feel free to share the flyer! Job Lane Farm Museum Open for House Tours Sunday, May 28, 2 – 4 PM

Enjoy some local history this weekend at the Job Lane Farm Museum, 295 North Road, Bedford.  The Job Lane House will be open for tours on Sunday, May 28, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  This 300 + year old house, the oldest house in Bedford, will take visitors back to colonial times.  See the open hearth kitchen and peek into the borning room.  The parlor has rare Rufus Porter wall paintings.  Period furnishings add interest to all the rooms.  Our Student Museum Docent House Tour Guides will provide informative dialogue about the house and its history.  Walk through the

Bedford Cultural Council Reception

The Bedford Cultural Council (BCC)  is hosting a reception at the  American Legion Post 221, 357 Great Road, on June 11 at 2pm to thank our 2022/2023 grant recipients.   Ken Gordon, our state representative and Bopha Malone, Select Board Chair will say a few words followed by a brief presentations from some of our grant recipients.  We will have displays from other grant recipients.  The reception is open to the public and BCC committee members will be available to answer questions or assist in this year's grant application process that begins on September 1, 2023.

“SHINE BRIGHT ~ Songs about Sunshine”

The Music Makes Me Happy Chorus will present a sing-along concert of songs about the sun and sunshine, to be enjoyed by people of all ages.  Two special guests include Theodore "Spaghetti" Jensen-Fellows from Acton, singing about the science of the sun, and Mitchell Gordon, a fabulous percussionist with a Hang Drum performance, "A Sunshine Meditation".  The chorus comprises special needs adults who love to sing, make new friends and give back to the community, and includes several members from Bedford.
