The Boston Celtics and Xfinity hosted a basketball clinic at the Auerbach Center in Brighton on Nov. 9 for 30 youth from Boys & Girls Clubs across New England, including Fall River and Hanscom Air Force Base.
The event provided the Boys and Girls Club youth with a big surprise – an opportunity to visit the Celtics’ practice facility and train alongside professional athletes.
Boston Celtics players Dalano Banton, Luke Kornet, and Svi Mykhailiuk, Xfinity Senior Director of Marketing Product Management-Greater Boston Region, Sandra E. Parks, and Xfinity Marketing Manager Cassie Kilmartin (Trombley) were in attendance.

“It’s really exciting, especially since these moments bring me back to my childhood of playing basketball and looking forward to professional players coming to visit us in school. Hopefully experiences like this can help inspire kids to reach their goals and dreams,” said Celtics player Svi Mykhailiuk.
The youth received a private tour of the Auerbach Center, including the locker room, weight room, and court. Participants also learned more about the innovative technology and state-of-the-art equipment the 70,000 square-foot training facility has to offer.
Celtics players participated alongside the Boys & Girls Club members in a 30-minute basketball clinic that focused on ball handling, shooting, and competitive drills.
Following the clinic, participants played video games and enjoyed a pizza party alongside the players.
