Do you know a kid from kindergarten through 8th grade interested in trying cheerleading but doesn’t know where to start?

Do you have a young cheerleader who wants to show their skills alongside Bucs athletes under the lights at a high school football game?

Know a kid who could use an active evening while the parents and caregivers have a date night?

The Bedford High School Cheerleading Team has just the fun event planned for any of these (and more) kids!

The Cheerleader for a Day event is an evening with the Bedford Bucs Varsity Cheer Team. The Friday event includes a two-hour cheer clinic with BHS Varsity Cheer coach Nikkie Melanson and BHS athletes, pizza dinner, t-shirt and bow, and the opportunity to cheer alongside the BHS Cheer Team during the first half of a BHS Friday night football game.

The Cheerleader for a Day event will take place from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 at Bedford High School. It is just one of several fundraising events the cheer team will be putting on this year.

The $40 per child registration fee will be used alongside funds raised from fundraisers such as a carwash this past Saturday, the annual mum sale, November raffle calendars, and dine and donate events that all help pay for the cheer athletes’ uniforms, equipment, competition music rights, choreography, safety and training clinics, and team bonding events.

Visit the BHS Cheer booth on Bedford Day (Saturday, Sept. 23). There will be face painting, stunting, teach-a-cheer, and more fun activities, as well as the opportunity to learn more about and register for the Cheerleader for A Day event.
