Top Secrets, classified documents, and how they’re handled have been in the news lately. We will keep the national news for others to discuss, but it did get us thinking. How many people are there in town with government top security clearances who know how to handle such sensitive papers?
We have Hanscom AFB, MITRE, Lincoln Labs, and a host of other contractors in town. According to the website Statista, 1.25 million people in the country have a Top Secret clearance as of 2019. This is divided by 605,579 who work for the government with another 472,576 working as contractors.
