Letter to the Editor: Traffic on Routes 4/225

Submitted by Barbara Amoroso

The traffic on Routes 4/225 during rush hours is unacceptable for residents and it appears the town is doing nothing about it. There are bottlenecks from traffic lights that are not timed correctly for the majority of the traffic.  Why isn’t something being done about it?

The roads are not made to handle this volume yet the town selectboard and zoning board keep approving new large developments . This seems very short sighted and for what benefit . Part of the Carlisle Road project are 10 row houses , 35 feet from the road 25 feet apart . The LIP project recently approved by the selectboard on Carlisle Road could add 500 more people traveling on 225 . Please contact the Zoning Board and help us stop this incredible departure from existing zoning laws for a development that may not even sell a market prices .
