At the regular Sunday Worship Service, The First Baptist Church of Bedford at 155 Concord Road welcomed its new pastor, Reverend Kevin T. Cunningham, M.Div.

“After a three-and-a-half-year search, we are blessed to have Rev. Cunningham join our church ministry of ‘Becoming and Producing Disciples of Christ,’” said a faithful member.

Pastor Kevin shared that during his search for his next pastorate, “I was seeking a Baptist Church that was looking to serve the community.”

His motto is: “Here to encourage and equip as God gives opportunity.” He believes that one of the main reasons we meet together as a church is to encourage one another.

In addition to leading worship and presenting his weekly message of hope, love, and care, he will be teaching Adult Connections. Pastor Kevin will be overseeing the Sunday School program and presiding over membership weddings and funerals.

Pastor Kevin wrote his book, Time with God: Develop Confidence & Consistency In Your Personal Prayer Life for people who love God and long to spend time with Him, but need help.

It’s a 28-day journey designed to draw us closer to God by:

  • Focusing on the nature and character of God
  • Praying with the Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication

Pattern

  • Praying the Scriptures
  • Praying our own personal prayers

Pastor Kevin’s other interests include videography and graphic design.

He and his wife, Alesa, have three adult children, one son-in-law, and an amazingly cute seven-month-old grandson. Kevin and Alesa are looking forward to serving the members at First Baptist Church and the community of Bedford.

The First Baptist Church of Bedford is a member of the American Baptist Churches, and The American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts (TABCOM), and supports domestic and international mission programs.

Throughout the years, the church has enjoyed two building expansions and currently conducts its services in the more-than-250-seat capacity sanctuary.

In January 2023, the church conducted its 50th Anniversary Consecutive Memorial Service for The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday.

In March 2023, the church invited internationally famous podcasters, “Hymn Talk – Twin Talk,” identical twins Kerrie Fraser and Kellie Tropeano to present a musical tribute service.

Please come and greet Pastor Kevin on an upcoming Sunday. Worship is from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church at 155 Concord Road, Bedford. Or join online at www.facebook.com/bedfordfriends or at Instagram.com/firstbaptistchurchbedford.
