Annual BAA Golf Tournament Tees Off on May 6 in Bedford

April 28, 2023

The Bedford Athletic Association’s 19th annual fundraising golf tournament is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, at the Patriot Golf Course, 200 Springs Rd. Shotgun start begins at noon.

And this time, there’s a chance to win a car.

According to Derek Billouin, president of the BAA, the player who shoots a hole-in-one on the fifth hole will win a Volkswagen provided by Colonial Automotive Group of Wellesley.

There are still some vacancies in the 64-player field. Entry fees are $125 per person and $500 for a foursome. Details, including registration and sponsorship forms, are available at www.bedfordathleticassociation.org.

The tournament will culminate at 5 p.m. with dinner catered by Red Heat Tavern of Bedford and awards for first place, runner-up, men’s and women’s closest-to-the-pin, and longest drive.

The BAA is the booster organization for all Bedford High School teams. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the association’s annual scholarships to graduating student-athletes.

Patriot Golf Course, on the campus of the VA Hospital, is owned by the U.S. Air Force and is open to the public. The nine-hole course, featuring some of the most scenic views in town, has been voted multiple times as the best U.S. military small golf course.

Sponsors of the event are Barrett Sotheby’s, Bedford Farms, Bedford Pediatrics, Buono Pest Control, Richard Fedele Tree Service, Middlesex Savings Bank, Michael Puglielli Landscape Design, Red Heat Tavern, Summit Health and Fitness, and Suzanne & Co.
