Relay for Life Hosts Movie Night Friday

The Relay for Life Committee at Bedford High School will present the movie Encanto on Friday at 5 p.m. in the auditorium at John Glenn Middle School.

Admission is free, although donations will be appreciated. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Relay for Life, the annual BHS fundraiser supporting the American Cancer Society, is still more than 11 weeks away (May 27 at 4 p.m.), but the committee hopes events like Friday’s movie will help build interest and involvement, as well as an opportunity to sign up for the relay.

Organizers said, “We picked the movie because we thought it would be one for everyone of all ages to enjoy, and snacks and a raffle will be available during the event.”

According to one reviewer, The Walt Disney Animation film is about the Madrigals, “an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a charmed place called the Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift — every child except Mirabel. However, she soon may be the Madrigals’ last hope when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is now in danger.”
