The Bedford Travel Basketball fifth grade boys are the Division 5 North Region champions, defeating Lexington in a packed gym in Woburn on Tuesday night, 29-28.
Surrounded by parents and fans, the team bested Lexington, who had twice defeated Bedford during the regular season.
As they move onto Round Four of the playoffs, the fifth grade boys’ team, coached by Jeff Gayron, goes on to face Lincoln-Sudbury on Saturday morning in Mansfield.
