Bedford Resident Moderating Panel on Using Nuclear Energy to Address Climate Change

Bedford resident Robert Kalantari will moderate a “What Role for Nuclear Energy in Addressing Climate Change?” webinar from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1. The event is being sponsored by the Newton Democratic Committee’s Climate Crisis Subcommittee.

Leading the discussion will be Dr. Sukesh Aghara, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research at UMass – Lowell; Dr. Jacopo Buongiorno, a professor of nuclear science and engineering and director of the Center for Advanced Nuclear Energy Systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and John Kotek, Senior Vice President at the Nuclear Energy Institute.

This event, which is open to everyone, includes a discussion, followed by a question and answer session on the potential role nuclear energy could play as the United States works to address climate change through decarbonization of the grid, transportation, and buildings.
