Letter to the Editor: My Decision to Not Seek Re-election to School Committee

~Submitted by Ann Guay

As the date for Town Caucus approaches, I wanted to share my decision with you about the upcoming election. Like many families, we were drawn to Bedford in part because of the excellent schools. All three of our children were so fortunate to live in a town that valued public education. The Bedford community is committed to quality public schools. Our teachers and administrators could teach anywhere, and they chose to teach in Bedford. This benefits every student who walks through the doors of Davis, Lane, JGMS and Bedford High School.

After careful consideration, I have decided not to see reelection. These past ten years as a member of the Bedford School Committee were so rewarding. I learned so much and really enjoyed the work. It is time for a change, and I look forward to supporting my replacement.
