CSF of Bedford Dollars for Scholars has scheduled its annual fundraising Trivia Night for Friday, Feb. 10, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Once again, this year’s event will be virtual. Registration is accessible through this link: https://bedfordma.dollarsforscholars.org/index.php?section=chapterWebsite&action=main&fwID=1269.
CSF of Bedford Dollars for Scholars is a volunteer community organization that awards scholarships to high school graduates who plan to continue their education. All Bedford High School seniors as well as seniors who reside in the town or on Hanscom Air Force Base are eligible.
Trivia Night is one of the group’s key annual fundraisers, and since the arrival of Covid-19 the success has continued on the Zoom platform.
It’s a team event with groups of six to 10 players. Because Trivia Night is virtual, team members can be at different locations. Players will sign in at 7:30 p.m. and be assigned to team breakout rooms. The trivia questions will begin at 8 p.m.
Zoom’s breakout room feature is central to the virtual game, as once a question is posed to everyone, team members can discuss their responses privately. Answers are submitted by the team captains. Then all competitors reconvene on the main screen to receive the next question.
According to an event organizer, “Each team captain purchases one ticket for each player on their team, and will notify us of the team’s name. Only team captains purchase tickets, which are $25 per participant. They collect from their players as needed, and handle team communications.”
After captains complete the ticket purchases, they will receive an email from [email protected] with further instructions and a request for a team player list to complete registration.
Questions may be sent to Tara Capobianco at [email protected] with the word “Trivia” in the subject line.
The contest will end around 9 p.m., and after runners-up and winners are announced, the Zoom meeting will remain open for a half-hour to provide for conversations.
