It’s the time of year when lights and decorations make the earlier sunsets more of a treat and the
darkness more tolerable.

The Bedford Recreation Department is holding a Winter Lights Contest. This is an opportunity
for residents to show off their decorated homes and yards with winter light displays. Only
displays visible from the roadway will be considered.

This contest is free to enter and is open to all Bedford residents.

The entries will be posted on the Bedford Recreation Department’s Facebook page and the
display that receives the most “likes” will be declared the winner.

By entering, all registrants grant permission for their address to be included on a list to be
published, available for the community to enjoy the light displays.

Registration is now open and the deadline to enter is Friday, Dec. 9.

Enter on the Bedford Recreation Department’s online registration system. Search for “Winter
Lights Contest” or click here.

Send a photo of your display to [email protected] by Dec. 9.

The winner will receive four free AMC or Showcase Movie tickets.

It would be nice if there was a list of homes with notable decorations. Driving around, after dark, seeing lights is something I love to do.
