There will be something for everyone on your holiday gift-giving list at the Friends of the Library Holiday Book Sale, Dec. 3 and 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. A Members only sale takes place on Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. and if you’re not already a member, you can join at the door.

Friends’ volunteers have been hard at work all fall pricing books and preparing for the annual winter sale. You will find like-new art books for art lovers and a wide variety of adult fiction and non-fiction books. There will be a special children’s section filled with picture books, kids’ chapter books, early readers, and movie DVDs. This year the Friends are selling a $10 pack of gift certificates in $2 increments – which would make great stocking stuffers for friends and family.

And you will also find Friends’-themed merchandise on sale, including the familiar tote bags and mugs along with cozy fleece jackets with the Friends logo.

Proceeds from the Friends’ book sales provide many of the special programs for which the Bedford Library is noted.  These include Museum passes; iPads in the Children’s room; the Thursday night movie series and the media equipment that makes it possible; the ever-popular winter history lecture series; many items in the Library of Things collection; and the wide variety of programs for children, teens, and adults that are offered free of charge at the library.
