Daylight vs Standard Time – What’s Bedford Thinking

This Sunday, we turn the clocks back again.  We return to Standard Time, meaning on Sunday sunset will be about 4:30 in the afternoon.

The Washington Post has an article in today’s paper saying we really should get rid of the daylight saving part of the time change.  Why daylight saving time is worse for your body than standard time Washington Post  – Nov 2, 2022.  In other words sunset would already be about 4:30 PM now.  There are all sorts of health reasons for not springing the clocks forward in the spring.

A poll conducted by CBS News in the spring found that most people would prefer the opposite.  They prefer to keep Daylight Savings permanent.

To avoid confusion 

Daylight Savings  – March 16 to November 6.

Standard Time: November 6 – March 12,  2023
