Letter to the Editor: Supporting the Re-Election of Rep. Ken Gordon

~ Submitted by Richard D. Rosen, Ph.D. (Meteorology)

You don’t need to be a climate scientist like me to understand how important it is to all of us to deal with the challenges of climate change.  Happily, for us in Massachusetts, Representative Ken Gordon has been a leader in making our state a leader in tackling those challenges.  Ken strongly advocated for both the clean energy act passed last month by our legislature and the landmark 2021 climate policy roadmap legislation.

Importantly, Ken has also filed a bill to establish an independent, professional state climatologist.   As Ken realizes, a state climatologist would be a valuable resource to businesses, farmers, policymakers, and especially residents in our state who want to know what the latest climate science means for where they live and work.

Please vote to re-elect Ken in the September 6 Democratic Party state primary so he can continue to work for us on climate, and other major, issues.  During his ten years as our Representative, Ken has amassed a lengthy record of accomplishments on behalf of the residents of Bedford and across the Commonwealth.  Through his website and regular open office hours, Ken encourages input from his constituents, and we always know where he stands.  He stands for us.
