June is Pride Month in Bedford ~ A Pair of Events are Already on the Calendar

Two community-wide Pride events have been scheduled in Bedford during June—one, a collaboration between the Council on Aging and Bedford Embraces Diversity, the other sponsored by Bedford Hanscom Girl Scout Troop 71644.

Proud Together will take place from 1:30 to 3:30 pm on June 14, in the Flint Room at Town Center. The Council on Aging and Bedford Embraces Diversity will host ‘Chat and Snack’ in the Flint Room at Town Center. The gay rights movement has come a long way since the Stonewall demonstrations in 1969.  According to the sponsors, “This is a chance for different generations to share and learn from past experiences and learn some of the challenges of today.”

A free, family-friendly, multi-generational Bedford Pride event hosted by Bedford Hanscom Girl Scout Troop 71644 will take place on Bedford Common from 10 am until 2 pm on Saturday, June 25. There will be dancing; craft-making; stories, facts, and resources; along with new friends.

The community is cordially invited to both events.
