Energy Plus Nutrition Comes to Bedford

January 26, 2022

Occupying the site that held Edible Arrangements in the Blue Ribbon Dairy Plaza is a new business serving up smoothies, waffles, mega teas, and more.

Energy Plus Nutrition Bedford is a small business started up by husband and wife team Sandro Quiros and Luz Velez.

Quiros said this is “basically a nutrition business. Our goal is to provide a healthy lifestyle. We are very interested in fitness. We are trying to promote something different, something new.”

Quiros went on to say they have friends that have other stores in Tewksbury and Methuen.  They were driving through Bedford and saw the location and thought that would be a perfect place for this kind of shop.

“These types of stores are all the rage in California, there are stores right next to each other, they’re everywhere,” continued Quiros, who is confident that the time is right to open.

I asked him about starting a retail business in a pandemic and he just said the “time felt right.”

And finally, what is a mega tea?  Here’s what Quiros said,  “A mega tea is a tea but is a flavored tea. We have over 200 or more different flavored teas.  Most cold but some can be made warm.   They contain natural caffeine from green and black tea and are loaded with different supplements …the tea gives energy and boosts metabolism.  It gives you that boost without the jitters.”

He also went on to describe their smoothies. “Our shakes are certified meal replacements. It’s the perfect blend of nutritionally dense calories, micro and macro nutrients, to actually be considered a meal. It’s high in the good stuff  (protein, fiber, vitamins).”

So check out Bedford’s newest addition and say hi to Sandro and Luz.
