November 19, 2021

Bedford resident Andy Kinch has stepped down as the President of Bedford Youth Lacrosse. In addition to his role on the Board of Directors, Andy was a dedicated and successful coach.

Kinch started with BYL as an Assistant Coach in 2014 when his daughter Samantha was in first grade. He subsequently took over as Head Coach and led Sam’s teams from 2nd—8th grade. His daughter is now a freshman on the BHS team. In addition to being a standout lacrosse coach, Andy sat on the BYL Board as Secretary (2016-2018) and President from 2019-2021. On the evening of November 5, members of the BYL family along with Samantha and his wife Deb surprised him with a token of their appreciation.

Without Kinch’s leadership and direction, lacrosse in Bedford would not be what it is today!

“Bedford Youth Lacrosse helped me form my love for the game of lacrosse and led me to make some of my best friends. Lacrosse is so much fun to play!”

~ Samantha Kinch

“Youth sports are one of the most powerful tools we have to build community as we raise the next generation of citizens.  The community of Bedford has been so fortunate for the eight generous years of youth development, leadership, and continued growth of a strong lacrosse program.  His service and smile are most gratefully applauded by the BYL Board, our families, and our town.”

~ Sarah Kohler (BYL Girls Director)

“I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching lacrosse and being a member of the BYL board of directors for the past eight years. It has been great to coach and to serve on the BYL board alongside some of the dedicated members of the Bedford community. Bedford Youth Lacrosse is an outstanding organization and I am constantly amazed by the level of hard work, dedication, and athleticism demonstrated by all of the girls and boys in the program. Bedford Youth Lacrosse, through the respective Massachusetts lacrosse leagues, has been instrumental in guiding the youth of Bedford in striving for athletic excellence while also teaching them the importance of self-discipline, respect, and sportsmanship.”
