Recycling Collection for E-Waste, Scrap Metal, and Tires ~ Saturday, Oct. 16 from 9 to Noon

Electronic waste, scrap metal, and tires will be collected in an autumn recycling event at the Bedford Compost Center, 108 Carlisle Road, from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, October 16th.

Acceptable E-waste includes TVs/ computer monitors, computers / laptops, phones (cell, etc), cameras, gaming systems, stereos / CD players, VCRs, projectors, external hard drives, fax machines, printers/ scanners, keyboards, air conditioners / dehumidifiers, and small portable kitchen appliances (e.g. blenders, toasters, coffee makers).

No refrigerators or ovens, dryers, washers, or appliances will be accepted.

Avoid traffic back-ups

To avoid traffic back up on Carlisle Road and Winterberry Way, the DPW is alphabetically staggering arrivals by last name:

  • A – F   9 AM to 10 AM
  • G – M   10 AM to 11 AM
  • N – Z    11 AM to Noon
  • All Residents   Noon to 1 PM

Second recycling event

Paper shredding (limit 5 boxes per vehicle), propane tanks, expired fire extinguishers, sealed lead-acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent lamps, and other items containing mercury can be recycled on Saturday, October 30th.
