The Bedford Garden Club will raffle several exciting items at its Bedford Day Booth and also will host a Yard Sale on the same day – Saturday, Sept. 18.

The booth, part of the Bedford Day fair, will feature a raffle that includes a rain barrel; a garden tote containing gardening tools; some beautiful silver jewelry; golfing tickets for 4 (plus a golf cart); and several gift certificates from local businesses including Whole Foods, New England Nurseries, Ken’s NY Deli, Bedford Farms, and Moison Ace Hardware.  The raffle items are valued at over $300.

Raffle tickets will sell for $1 each, 6 for $5, and 13 for $10.  Purchasers may choose the item or items they hope to win by putting their tickets into separate boxes designated for each gift.  The jewelry and jewelry raffle box will be located at the site of the club’s Yard Sale at 12 School Ave.  This address is right next to the Bedford Day fair: walk past Town Hall to the path leading toward the Bedford Fire Station; 12 School Ave. is on the small street adjacent to the fire department.

The Garden Club’s booth also will feature grapevine wreaths and garden slates containing humorous or thought-provoking phrases, as well as the traditional chrysanthemums that the Club sells at every Bedford Day.

Also for sale will be about a dozen lovely little “canning jar” flower arrangements, to be made right before Bedford Day using flowers from Bedford Garden Club members’ yards.

The yard sale at 12 School Ave. will feature gardening items, furniture, antiques, jewelry, household items, and other treasures.  Everything sold at both the Club’s booth and the yard sale will benefit the Garden Club’s annual scholarship and civic activities.

If Bedford Day activities are canceled, the grapevine wreaths and garden slates will be sold at the Garden Club’s yard sale, which will be rescheduled to a later date at a different location.
