Milling involves grinding and lifting the top layer of existing asphalt pavement in these segments by means of a small milling machine. Filling involves filling up these milled segments with a new Asphalt top course. The typical depth of milling is between 1 to 2 inches depending on the condition of the depth of existing asphalt pavement.

Traffic will be managed by the police on-site, please anticipate delays and plan your trips on these roads accordingly. Vehicle access in and out of properties will be maintained but may be restricted for short periods. Emergency vehicles and vehicles for Town services (trash collection etc.) will always have access at all times.

Please drive carefully and adhere to traffic rules and signages in construction zones. Please note that milled surfaces may be exposed for a day or two prior to establishing the new paving surface. We will post updates on our DPW website as work progresses or completes.

Thank you for your patience.  Please contact the Department of Public Works at (781) 275-7605 if you have any questions or need additional information.
