The Bedford High School varsity softball team feasted on Cambridge Rindge and Latin School pitching Monday and Wednesday, winning both games by a combined score of 33-4.
Coach Dennis Walsh’s bashers amassed 31 hits and nine walks and took advantage of nine Falcon errors over the two games.
Monday in Cambridge, the Buccaneers led 13-0 after three innings and breezed to a 17-3 victory. Extra-base hits were recorded by Katie Kranz (triple) and Ellie Mitchell, Bella Fernald, Cassidy Schuman, and Gianna Missiti (doubles).
Kranz pitched a complete game for the win, striking out five.
The series returned to Bedford Wednesday and the home team picked up where it left off, leading 13-0 after three innings (déjà vu) and finishing victorious, 16-1.
Kranz scorched one of the longest home runs seen at Miss G Field – into the woods. Schuman was four-for-four with three RFBI, including a triple and a double. Missiti added three hits.
Kaylee Grace got the win on the mound, striking out nine and scattering three hits.
