International Workers’ Day ~ Seeking Better Pay and Benefits for Healthcare Workers

Healthcare workers employed by the Edinburg Center on Burlington Road demonstrated their demands for better pay and benefits at the Town Common around noon on Saturday, which they noted is International Workers’ Day.

Edinburg Center employees who say healthcare workers should be considered essential, began contract talks with management last month and demonstrated on Bedford Common on May 1. They belong to the Service Employees International Union.

The Edinburg Center serves people with mental health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, co-occurring disorders, autism, and brain injuries.
