The calendar’s cover

Four members of the BHS Class of 2024 worked together over the summer to create and market a 2021 calendar. Caroline Liu, Christina Kolak, Layla Brown, and Kaylyn Sethakosee created their quarantine project over the summer to support the Bedford VA.

A number of different projects were considered, and they settled on the calendar. Working as a team, they created the paintings, designed a logo, undertook a marketing campaign, and sold calendars.

A few weeks ago, they donated the proceeds from the calendar sales to the Voluntary Service office at Bedford’s Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital

Laurel Holland, Chief of the Voluntary Service office, met the team on the VA campus recently. ” It’s just not every day you see someone so thoughtful come up with such an amazing gift,” said Holland.   We are so grateful, you are all truly special!

The young women, friends since elementary school at Davis and Lane, saluted the H.E.A.R.T. posters that John Glenn Middle School principal Kevin Tracey displays throughout the school

HEART—Honor, Empathy, Acceptance, Responsibility, and Tenacity—all qualities evident in the team’s gift to the Bedford VA.
