Friends of the Library Launch Online Store for Book Sales

October 16, 2020

One of the casualties of the pandemic has been the cancellation of the Friends of the Library book sales.  Devoted shoppers who usually throng the Spring, Fall, and Winter sales have mourned the loss and have been equally distressed that there has been no way to donate books (now piling up on bookshelves all over town.)

But wait! The ingenious and innovative Friends have come up with an intriguing solution – an online store where, for a mere $10 per bag, you can select a bag containing 4-10 books, depending on the   genre (adult fiction, non-fiction, art books, children’s books and more.) Or you can select the “Grab Bag” option and be surprised.  Payment is by credit card (preferred) or check and the Friends’ volunteers will deliver to your door. Delivery may take up to a week, depending on the volume of sales.

Please visit the Online Bookstore at friendsofthebedfordlibrary.wildapricot.org

As with past sales, 100% of the proceeds of the Online Bookstore will go to the Library to support vital programs that might not otherwise be possible from the municipal budget.  Some of the programs underwritten by the Friends include the Professor Dan Breen lecture series, museum passes, supplies and programming for children, adult and children’s summer reading programs, and many more.

About Those Book Donations

Because the Friends’ storage room is overflowing, they can’t accept donations at this time.  However, if the new Online Bookstore is a success, there may be room for more donated books soon.
