After last weekend’s record-breaking warmth and sunshine, by late on Thursday the weather signaled that winter’s still in control.
Bedford’s most recent spate of high winds late Thursday and into Friday morning peaked at 45 miles per hour. A gust downed an immense pine tree that nailed a fence and narrowly missed a neighbor’s home.
With snow predicted to begin on Saturday afternoon around 5 pm, Bedford’s projected accumulation (as of very early on Friday morning) will be 4 to 6 inches.

Here’s what the National Weather Service tweeted at 5:30 on Friday afternoon:
Not a blockbuster #snow event Sat afternoon/evening but snowfall rates may approach an inch per hour at times across. Very cold temps will result in roads becoming snow-covered quickly Sat afternoon and evening.
