Submitted by B.E.S.T. PTO
In celebration of Active Transit Month, B.E.S.T. PTO is sponsoring a contest for Lane School students who bike or walk to school during the month of May.
Students can track their trips and miles for a chance to win prizes, including a brand-new bicycle!
All students who walk or ride at least once in may will be eligible for the new bike drawing. Prizes Will also be awarded for the student who rides the most miles and the student who makes the most trips.
A resource library is available for Lane families with students who want to participate, but don’t have access to a well-maintained bicycle or a helmet for riders with special needs.

Lane Bike to School Day is Tuesday, May 7
This year, the ride will be parent-led and is being organized at the neighborhood level.
Lane School is not organizing a structured bike-to-school activity this year but is instead partnering with massbike to put on a special program at the school. The program is modeled on an established endeavor in Marin County.
The Bedford Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC), in partnership with other groups in town, is supporting parents and students who want to coordinate parent-led rides on the morning of May 7.
