By Julie McCay Turner

The auction for the Navy hangar and 16 acres of land along Hartwell Road, at the edge of Hanscom Field, closed shortly before noon local time with a final offer of $9.040,00 by Bidder #6.

The final bid was one of a pair posted after the auction reopened after the federal government shutdown. The bids were entered shortly before 11 am (CT) on January 31 and remained unchallenged for 24 hours.

Now that the auction is closed, a waiting period begins. An approximately 30-day-long window allows for the bidder and the GSA to finalize their terms.
