Submitted by Erin Sandler-Rathe for the Bedford Chamber of Commerce

Have you seen those purple signs around town? Flavors of Bedford is coming — Sunday, November 4, from 4 to 6 pm at the Doubletree Bedford Glen. I’ve put together some of the best reasons you should be there!

#5: You’ve Never Gone Before
Every year, the Chamber of Commerce counts about 200 people attending the event. Out of a town of over 12,000 residents, there’s a good chance that you’ve never been! Plus, from my conversations with friends and passersby at Bedford Day, I can say that a good portion of the town has not checked us out.

#4: Support Hanscom Heroes
Proceeds from the event support Hanscom AFB’s Friends of Family Services. They help fund programs for our Airman and Family Readiness Center, which supports military families at the base. And the base commander and his staff are always our honored guests, which gives you the opportunity to thank them directly for their service to our community and our country.

#3: Decide our Best Of Awards
This year we’ve reintroduced Best of Bedford awards, but with some new categories: Best Overall Dish; Best Dessert; and Most Flavorful – the most creative, new, unique or best-plated dish of the night. When you arrive, you’ll be given tickets to cast your votes, and we’ll announce the awards at 5:55 pm.

#2: It’s Family-Friendly
You can get a family pack of four tickets for $100. That’s $15 off the regular ticket price and not a bad price to feed a family of four — especially when you consider the variety and quality of the restaurants participating!

#1: It’s Delicious!
Over 20 restaurants participate, and the menu ranges from Bedford Cupcakes’ Sugar Plum Fairy treats to Ken’s famous chicken fingers to Holi’s savory favorites. If there’s a restaurant you’ve been wanting to try, come to taste them here! And we’ve attracted some of the best restaurants from neighboring towns, too, including Lexx from Lexington and Burton’s from Burlington.

The event is co-sponsored by New England Nurseries, the Doubletree Bedford Glen, and Brown & Brown Attorneys, PC. Dozens of local businesses have donated to make this a great event, so be sure to support the sponsors!

Tickets: $40 advance purchase; $35 for seniors 65+; $100 for a family pack.  Purchase your tickets at

  • Great Road Gallery (363 Great Rd)
  • New England Nurseries (216 Concord Rd) or Cambridge Savings Bank (181 Great Rd)
  • Online (https://flavorsofbedford.org)
  • Or at the event, but it’s $5 more per ticket
