BHS Football Alumni think of August as a time to drink Dixie cups of lemon-flavored ice tea out of a giant barrel after hot days at football camp. Especially on a day like today, when the 2018 Bedford Buccaneer football team began their workouts at Sabourin Field in 80-degree heat.
The football team traditionally leads the start of the varsity tryout season, which gets into full swing next week. By Thursday all the teams will occupy most of the fields and court around Bedford High.

As is the nature of Division 3 sports, Bedford is returning a number of letterman in each sport. Keep your eyes open for varsity players from the Sophomore and Freshman classes. Both years have had superior boys and girls student/athletes in town recreation sports.
So if you see a high schooler slowly crossing the street wearing a backpack that looks more like a rucksack, smile, wave, and take pity; because if they want to start on varsity this year, they have to work for it.
