Massport Grant Funds Summer Jobs for Bedford Teens

Submitted by the Town of Bedford

The Town of Bedford has been awarded a grant from Massport to fund summer jobs for teens who live in the communities served by Massport including the Hanscom Field communities of Bedford, Concord, Lexington, and Lincoln.  The program, initiated and funded by Massport in 1991, assists communities in meeting their increased social service, recreation, and maintenance needs, assisting high school, college and postgraduate students to find summer employment.

Teens who are residents of one of the Towns listed above and are enrolled in an educational program (high school, college or postgraduate) are eligible to apply for this program in the Town of Bedford.  Workers interested in the area of Conservation Land Maintenance are particularly invited to apply.  The work period will begin early to mid-July and will run for four to five weeks into August.  The Town of Bedford is an Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.

Applications will be accepted until Friday, June 15, 2018, and may be downloaded from the Town’s website:  www.bedfordma.gov/employment or picked up in person at Town Hall.  They should be returned to:  The Town Manager’s Office, Town of Bedford, 10 Mudge Way, Bedford, MA  01730 — or faxed to 781-275-6310.
