Bedford Town Government at Work for the Week of June 4, 2018

Several interesting and important board and committee meetings are scheduled for the coming week:

The Town Manager Search Screening Committee will hold a listening session for the public on Monday, June 4 at 7:30 pm  Calling for input from all residents  the committee posted this invitation on the Town Website: All are invited to attend to share their input on the issues facing Bedford in the next few years and the experience and skills the new Town Manager will require. Written comments may also be submitted to the Town Manager Search Screening Committee. Comments can be e-mailed to [email protected] or mailed to the Town Manager’s Office, Attention: Betsey Anderson for the committee.

On Tuesday, June 5, residents can hear results from the Council on Aging needs assessment survey recently completed by community members and tabulated by statisticians at UMass Boston. The results are drawn from a survey completed by 1,560 residents aged 65 and over. Tuesday’s community presentation will describe results and recommendations taken from the study. There will be two sessions, one at 1 pm and another at 6:30 pm. Both will be held in the multi-purpose room at Town Hall.  Please notify the COA (781) 275-6825 if you plan to come.

Also on Tuesday, the Depot Park Advisory Committee will meet at 2 pm, the Board of Assessors will meet with their consultant at 7 pm, and at 7:30 pm, the Historic Preservation Commission will hear an application for demolition delay of the house at 52 South Road.

On Wednesday, June 6 the Bicycle Advisory Committee will meet at 7:30 pm in the lower level conference room. The planned MAPC Bike Share program and a discussion of the committee’s 2018 Core Goals & Priorities are on the agenda. Also on Wednesday night, the Historic District Commission will continue a public hearing to consider the demolition and rebuilding of the structure of 18 North Road at 7:30 pm.
