Bedford’s  66th  annual Easter Dawn Service at Fawn Lake will be celebrated at 6:30 am on Sunday, April 16, on the shores of the Lake at the end of Sweetwater Avenue.

Lay representatives from five of Bedford’s churches—St. Paul’s Episcopal, First Parish on the Common (UUA), First Church of Christ (UCC), First Baptist, and the Parish of St. Michael (Roman Catholic) —will lead the service early on Easter morning. Music will be provided by the Ecumenical Brass Ensemble, led by John Bridgeman.

The ecumenical Easter Dawn service began in 1951 under the inspiration and direction of First Church members Doris (“Mickey”) and Reed Webber. For most of its history, the service has relied on lay leadership from participating Bedford congregations. This year, First Parish on Bedford Common will lead the organizational efforts.

All are welcome to attend the service, which is followed by an extraordinary community breakfast for attendees. Bring your Easter bonnet and your appetite.

In the case of inclement weather, the service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal, 100 Pine Hill Road.
