Letter to the Editor, January 6, 2017: A Community of Volunteers Gathers to Support Springs Brook Park

January 6, 2017

Submitted by Chloe Wheaton

The momentum in our little town is HUGE right now. The sense of community and support is amazing. The idea of our beloved Spring Brook Park not opening this summer, or at best with limited capacity, has created quite the buzz.

With close to 500 members acquired in a day, our Facebook page “Bedford Supports Springs Brook Park” continues to grow, with community members offering a multitude of skills and/or services to help promote the park opening this summer, and years to come.

We understand that there are some obstacles, but we believe with fresh ideas, more marketing, and the positive energy that is moving through our community, it is possible.

There have been many changes, amenities added, and a greater sense of Bedford ownership. This needs to be relayed to the public, it is not the same Springs Brook Park as it was five years ago.

Together, our voices WILL be heard. Together, we WILL make a change.

With a community that is pulling together the way it has been this past week, who wouldn’t find this empowering? It exemplifies what an amazing community we have here in Bedford.

Together, we can accomplish anything. Springs Brook Park clearly means a great deal to a great many.

Please help show support for Springs Brook Park by coming to the next meeting with Recreation on Monday, January 9th at 7:30 p.m. held in the Auditorium ad Town Hall.

Time is truly of the essence.
