In less than 10 minutes, you can fill out a survey that will tell the Bedford Free Public Library just what you like best about the Library and what services you would put on your “wish list” for the future.
The survey is part of the Library’s mandate to engage in a strategic planning update at least every five years.
Your participation and ideas about the future of the library are important to a successful strategic plan.
The survey can easily be filled out online
- on the library website at www.bedfordpubliclibrary.org,
- directly at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BedfordLibraryCommunitySurvey, and
- paper copies are available at the Library for anyone without access to a computer.
The survey will be available until August 19.
And as a reminder, postcards will be sent out the end of the first week in August to jog your memory. Library Director Richard Callaghan and staff are serious about wanting to hear from as many library users as possible.
Help the Library to update its strategic plan
Every five years the Library revises and updates its strategic plan, as required by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. This year the Trustees engaged Library consultant Deb Hoadley to lead the effort. Hoadley convened several focus groups, made up of library users, staff, and Trustees, to meet and take part in guided discussions.
Out of these focus groups has come the survey. The questions are short but get to the heart of the matter: is the Library serving your needs and in what ways could it be doing better in the future.
This is a chance to come up with your dream Library!
Let your imagination roam freely; think of libraries you may have visited in other towns and cities. Did you find services that Bedford might be able to provide? A reader’s café? Ample meeting spaces for community groups? A lending library of tools? Think big!
Library Director Richard Callaghan and his staff are eager to hear from you.
