Walk or Biking to School is an option to consider on almost any day, but our event days are extra special!

Please join thousands of other students and family members across the Commonwealth as Bedford celebrates Walk and Bike to School Day on Wednesday May 4. Families are encouraged to Walk and Bike to School.on their own or join an event:

Davis School: 8:50 AM Celebratory Walk from the Lutheran Church to Davis
with school officials.

Lane School: Walking School Bus launching at 7:45AM from St. Paul’s parking lot on Pine Hill. This is an approximately 1 mile walk through the neighborhoods to Lane.

Lane School: “Biking Train” meets at 7:30AM at Depot Park on Loomis St. This will be an independent ride of students and parents but with some volunteers including Mr. Ackerman and Mr. Kinney to help shepherd the event. Helmets required. It is an approximately 2.0 mile ride on rail trail to school, with 25 minute ride uphill.
Afternoon Return Ride: 1:15 PM: leave Job Lane for approximately 15 minute ride downhill with parent pick-up at Depot Park at 1:30 pm,

Words to remember

  • Students may ride one way if school is notified.
Parents are highly encouraged to join either ride!
  • Poor weather forecast will cancel the biking school bus.
  • As always, JGMS and BHS students are encouraged to Walk & Bike to School but no events are scheduled.
  • The Middlesex Community College Overflow Lot connects to the Bike Trail and is a great drop off point for those who want a short (10 min) walk or quick bike ride to Lane but cannot walk/bike from their neighborhood!  This is a great alternative to ease congestion (and stress) on the Lane campus!
