Christopher Zarowski and his colleagues on Oak Park Drive are still trying to find the owner or someone to adopt the Rambling Rooster that has been hanging around the building’s back parking lot since Wednesday morning.
There don’t seem to be a lot of people willing to adopt roosters, or organizations willing to do more than euthanize them. Zarowski read online that MSPCA in Metheun will “take” roosters but almost invariable euthanizes them; the Animal Rescue League of Boston did not even respond to his entreaties, and Bedford’s Animal Control Officer was not interested. It is believed that Bedford’s bylaws for keeping animals would allow chickens, but not roosters.
That said, perhaps one of our readers knows of a happy home for this lost rambler.
