There’s a common misconception that eating disorders only occur in teenage girls. However eating disorders do not discriminate against gender, ages, or races. In the United States alone approximately 24 million people — men and women and people who range from adolescence through older adults — struggle with an eating disorder.

The good news for the millions of people who suffer with an eating disorder is that there is treatment. If you are concerned about your thoughts, feelings, or eating habits, or those of a friend, you can take a free, online screening to find out if the symptoms are consistent with an eating disorder diagnosis at www.bedfordma.gov/youth  under the “screenings” section.Find out today!
