Can you believe it is that time of year again???   YES!!!  It is that time!!!

You are craving a thin mint and guess what??  You can get one from your local Girl Scout.

Girl Scouts began selling cookies on December 11 and will continue to sell them through March 4, 2016.

To get the momentum going 62 girls from the Bedford Hanscom Girl Scout troops, ranging in age from Daisy all the way up to Cadet, celebrated on Saturday, November 14 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, on Pine Hill Road.

It has been a tradition that before cookie season starts the Junior Girl Scout Troops plan a “Cookie Kick Off,”  a gathering for the Bedford Hanscom Girl Scout Troops to enjoy a fun event.

Since this year the mascot for cookie sales is the hedgehog, the Creature Teacher was a perfect choice to entertain the children and even provided the girls with a live hedgehog, as one of their many animals.  The girls enjoyed an hour-long show from the Creature Teacher. The show included an alligator, ferret, rabbit, frog along with the hedgehog.  The Scouts learned all about all the animals and even got up close and personal with them. There were crafts, songs, and even a talk on selling cookies safely.  It was a great event to start off cookie selling season.

So…be on the lookout for your local Girl Scouts, they may be in your neighborhood or at your local grocery store, selling those cookies that we have all come to love.

If you have any questions regarding cookies or even if you know someone who would love to be a Girl Scout, please feel free to contact Sue Turner at [email protected].  Sue will be able to tell you where you can find the cookies or how to sign up for a troop.
