The Planning Board met at 6:30 pm on Tuesday October 27 to discuss the conversion of public school buildings to multiple residential use (Zoning Bylaw Section 11) and to prepare the Board’s report to Town Meeting about Article 2 on the Warrant. The proposed article called for additional condominium units and garages to be built at Page Place.
The meeting began not with a bang, but with a whimper. As the meeting was called to order, the Planning Board received word that Article 2 was being withdrawn and would not be presented at Special Town Meeting.
This left a time gap before the scheduled 7:30 pm public hearing on Article 3, an amendment to Bedford Zoning Map to change a portion of Bedford Marketplace from Limited to General Business. Realizing that public interest was high in the zoning map change, the Board held off discussion until 7:30 pm to allow residents time to gather. In the interim, the Board discussed routine business.
