Planning Ahead: Bedford Day Road Closures on Saturday, September 19

Town of Bedford New SealOn Saturday September 19, 2015 the Town of Bedford will be celebrating Bedford Day. This will result in some traffic delays and road closures.

Danny Oates Memorial Road Race

There will be a road race in the area of McMahon Road, Concord Road, Davis Road and some of the side roads within the Davis Road loop. Expect runners and police officers assisting with the race on these roadways between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM that morning. These roadways will still be open but please use caution while traveling.

Bedford Day Parade

At 9:30 AM Loomis Street between Webber Avenue and the Great Road will be shut down in preparation for the Bedford Day Parade. The parade is scheduled to step off at 10:30 AM. The Great Road from the Loomis & Great Road intersection heading North to the Great Road and Concord & North Road intersection will be shut down for the parade prior to 10:00 AM . Cars will be allowed to exit the shopping centers and parade drop off up to 10:10 AM but after that the entire road will be shut down to traffic. The road will re-open when the parade ends on Mudge Way. The estimated time for the completion of the parade is 11:30 AM. Anticipate detours and delays during this time period.

Bedford Day Fair

The town will also be hosting the Bedford Day Fair on the town grounds, in the parking area between the Town Hall and the Police Station. Parking and motor vehicle entry into this area will be restricted from the early morning until the late afternoon. In the event of inclement weather, the decision to reschedule the events for Bedford Day will be made that morning.
