Members of the Bedford Minuteman Company traveled to Boston on Thursday for the inauguration of Massachusetts’ newly-elected governor, Charlie Baker.

The Company along with their muskets, fifes, a drum and the Bedford Flag were stationed on the second floor of the Grand Staircase when the new governor climbed the stairs at 10:45 am. Because Captain Kring served as drummer, Charles Hacala served as Captain at the State House, and Mike Hand carried the Bedford Flag.

Long a member of the Bedford Minuteman Company, Ted Tremblay was visiting from Australia. He borrowed a Great Coat, according to Company Scribe Jeannette Pothier, and stood proudly holding his old musket. Members of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery questioned Bryan Nash’s long beard, but Ted tugged at it and proclaimed “Yes, it’s real!”
