The Bedford Garden Club extends its thanks to all who visited our booth on Bedford Day and the community supporters who helped to make Bedford Day a success.  We are especially grateful to Bedford Dept. of Public Works Director Roy Sorenson for his support of our raffle of a “Green Machine” – the composter available for sale by the DPW, and to Judy Brown of New England Nurseries for supplying the beautiful mums we sold on Bedford Day.

The proceeds from the raffle and the sale of our mums, flower arrangements, and narcissus and tulip bulbs will contribute to the Garden Club’s scholarships and other civic activities.  More important than this fundraising, however, Bedford Day activities are designed to increase awareness of the Garden Club’s many programs and civic activities – including our work to plant, mulch, water and weed gardens at 19 traffic islands, corners and public buildings throughout Bedford, to provide information about the joys of gardening and various conservation efforts, and to encourage more Bedford residents to share their love of gardening as new club members.  These goals were achieved and we can say that Bedford Day was a tremendous success!!
